The INTELHEART project was honored to be one of four invited by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia for presentation at the prestigious Heart Failure 2025 Congress.
Held for the first time in Serbia, the congress took place from 17 to 20 May 2025 at the Sava Center in Belgrade. Organized annually by the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), this event is recognized as the world’s leading forum covering the full spectrum of heart failure.
The HFA Congress brings together global experts with a shared mission to enhance quality of life and increase longevity for patients through improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart failure. It also fosters the development of collaborative networks in clinical care, education, and research.
This year’s comprehensive programme featured over 80 scientific sessions, with contributions from internationally renowned experts in heart failure, imaging, electrophysiology, and interventional cardiology. The latest breakthroughs from clinical trials and registries were unveiled during multiple Late-Breaking Science sessions. The 2025 Congress was co-chaired by Academician Prof. Petar Seferović and Prof. Arsen Ristić, both from the School of Medicine, University of Belgrade and the University Clinical Center of Serbia.
Representing the INTELHEART project were Dr. Smiljana Tomašević, research associate, and Anđela Blagojević, junior research assistant, from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac, together with Dr. Bogdan Milićević, research associate, and Momčilo Prodanović, research assistant, from the Institute for Information Technologies in Kragujevac. They presented the project’s vision, concept, clinical and technical partners, and ongoing activities aimed at improving the diagnosis and prediction of heart failure using advanced digital technologies.
Participation in the Heart Failure Congress, the world’s leading educational event in the field, provided not only an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange but also a unique chance to foster collaboration between academia, healthcare institutions, and industry — all united in their commitment to improving outcomes for heart failure patients.
The INTELHEART team extends its sincere gratitude to the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia for the invitation to participate in such a significant international event and for the opportunity to showcase the project to key stakeholders in the field of heart failure.
